We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

Your Initial Chiropractic Consultation

Chiropractors are professionals concerned with the assessment, management and care for people of all ages. The primary purpose of your initial visit is for your chiropractor to learn more about you, your health and to establish your goals. To be able to do this adequately, the first appointment will be a full half hour, consisting of a comprehensive history and a full examination using a variety of testing and assessment tools and x-rays onsite if required.

Dependent on your specific concerns, we may require x-rays to be taken to fully evaluate your spinal health and develop an appropriate treatment plan for you. These x-rays are taken during your inital appointment.

Your Subsequent Appointment

On your second visit, your chiropractor will review the findings of scans and x-rays performed in your initial consultation. If your chiropractor recommends commencing chiropractic care, and you are happy to proceed, you will receive your first Chiropractic Adjustment during this visit. During this appointment, your chiropractor may also provide recommendations for other services and programs to help you achieve your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

u

What tests may be performed in the initial consultation?

The exams that may be performed in your initial consultation may include; chiropractic subluxation analysis, neurological analysis, postural analysis, EMG, HRV, Bio-Impedance Analysis and spinal x-rays.

How long does an adjustment take?

The actual chiropractic adjustment may only take a few minutes, but it’s important to understand that it’s not the adjustment itself that does the healing. The adjustment helps to remove interference from your nervous system, allowing your body to heal naturally. This will happen continually over the next few hours, days or even weeks.

How long do I need to come for?

How long you choose to benefit from Chiropractic care is always up to you. It really depends on your goals. If you are simply after pain relief, then that may take anywhere from one visit to a few months worth of visits. If you want to correct the underlying issues and get back to performing at your best, then you may choose chiropractic as an ongoing addition to your health plan.

u

How long until I start to feel better?

This really depends on you and your body since it is your body that does the healing. You may notice significant change after the first adjustment, it may take weeks to notice any dramatic change or it could be somewhere in between. Obviously the amount of damage that is present and the way you look after your body in between visits will have a significant bearing on the time it takes to heal.
